New Delhi: In what seems to be a regrettable moment for US President Donald Trump, on Friday, 05 September 2025, he said in a social media post that it “looks like we’ve lost India and Russia to deepest, darkest China.” He also wished all three countries a “prosperous” future. This comment is being described as sarcastic by close watchers of Trump’s style of functioning.

Chinese President Xi Jinping hosted Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit in Tianjin from August 31 to September 1.

“Looks like we’ve lost India and Russia to deepest, darkest, China. May they have a long and prosperous future together!” Trump posted on his Truth Social.
