New Delhi: In Lyari, Karachi, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, a prominent Pakistani politician and president of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (Fazl) (JUI-F), has created a stir in the country’s politics by asking Pakistan’s Army Chief Asim Munir, “If you say that we have struck at the centers of our enemy, and you call this a justified statement, then India tells you – I have attacked Bahawalpur, I have attacked Muridke, I have struck at the centers that were attacking us in Kashmir, why are you objecting to India?” Maulana Fazlur Rehman had gone to Lyari, Karachi on December 21, 2025. There he was the main speaker at the “Tahaffuz Deeniya Madaris Conference”. In this gathering, he spoke on several issues.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman Questions Army’s Policy

Maulana Fazlur Rehman has directly questioned the army’s policy and said that Pakistan-Afghanistan relations have gone downhill because of the army. Maulana Fazlur Rehman demanded new elections in the country and said that this government, formed through vote rigging, should go.

Sharply criticizing Army Chief Asim Munir’s Afghanistan policy, Fazlur Rehman said that Pakistan needs an Afghanistan that is pro-Pakistan. But from Zahir Shah to Ashraf Ghani, the Afghan government has been pro-India, not pro-Pakistan. This has been happening continuously.

‘Why do you object when India targets its enemy in Bahawalpur and Muridke’?

Maulana Fazlur Rehman said to Pakistan’s military regime, “If you justify attacking Afghanistan by claiming you are targeting your enemy there, then why do you object when India targets its enemy in Bahawalpur and Muridke (inside Pakistan)?”

He said that when you bomb Kabul, it’s obviously the same as someone bombing your Islamabad. Questioning the Pakistani army, he asked how the Taliban would tolerate the bombing of Kabul.

‘Why Are You Objecting To India’?

Justifying India’s strikes on terrorist bases like Muridke and Bahawalpur during Operation Sindoor, he questioned the Pakistani army, “If you say that we have struck the centers of our enemy, and you call this a justified statement, then India tells you – I have attacked in Bahawalpur, I have attacked in Muridke, I have struck the centers that were attacking us in Kashmir, why are you objecting to India? If you object to that, then the same accusation comes from Afghanistan’s side, then what will you answer?”

Maulana Fazlur said, “Will you justify your actions against Afghanistan, and if you do, how can you call India’s actions wrong?”
