The new Hyundai Verna 2017 exterior is derived out of the automaker’s Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design language. The new sedan comes with the automaker’s signature Hexagonal grille up-front, along with LED DRLS, LED tail-lights, diamond cut alloy wheels, a roof mounted spoiler and a slopping coupe like roof-line.

The sedan will measure 4380mm in length, 1728mm in width and 1460mm in height along with wheelbase of 2600mm. It will be 30mm longer wheelbase than the previous generation model.

Other features include a multi-functional steering wheel, automatic climate control, USB and AUX-In connectivity, power sockets, sunroof, rain-sensing wipers, follow me headlamps, cruise control, rear parking camera with sensors, leather upholstery in top-spec trims, rear seat armrest and rear air-con vents.

Safety features include dual-front airbags and ABS with EBD. The higher end variants will get up to six airbags, electronic stability program, traction control and electronic brake assist.

The petrol derivative is to feature a 1.4-litre and a 1.6-litre VTVT motor while the diesel derivative will come with a 1.4-litre and a 1.6-litre CRDi engine. The 1.4-litre motors both petrol and diesel will get a 5-speed manual gearbox while the 1.6-litre engines will get a 6-speed manual unit.

The new sedan is going to retail at a base price of INR 7 lakh with the top of the line variant retailing close to Rs 14 lakh (ex-showroom). Hyundai Verna 2017 will compete against Honda City 2017, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and Volkswagen Vento.
