Tata Motors has finally launched the Tata Tiago small hatchback at an introductory price of INR 3.20 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Bookings are open currently with a down payment of INR 10000. In the small car segment, the Tiago will rivals against the Maruti Celerio and the Chevrolet Beat. The car features the new “Impact Design Philosophy” and is based on a modified XO platform that also underpins the Indica.The front features a new Humanity Line honeycomb mesh grille wide air-dam and fog lamps integrated into the front bumper. The car gets sweptback headlamps while the Tata logo is housed at the centre of the grille. The side profile gets ORVM mounted turn indicators while the car comes shod with new 14-inch alloy wheels. The rear section features a sporty tailgate with an integrated spoiler. The car gets hexagonal taillights and sporty bumpers. On the inside, the cabin of Tiago gets quality materials which sports piano black finish on the dashboard around the centre console. On the feature front, it gets a touch-screen infotainment system, 8-speaker ConnectNext audio system by HARMAN, Smartphone enabled GPS navigation system and Juke-Car app. Also, Tata has provided nifty storage with 22-utility spaces. The Tata Tiago is launched in both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol variant comes equipped with a 1.2-litre Revotron engine that effortlessly generates max power of 83bhp @ 6000rpm and peak torque of 114Nm @ 3500rpm while diesel model gets a newly developed 1.05-litre Revotorq 3-cylinder engine that churns 69bhp of max power along with 140Nm of peak torque. The Transmission responsibilities are taken care by a 5-speed manual gearbox. In terms of competition, the newly launched Tata Tiago competes with Maruti Suzuki Celerio, Hyundai Grand i10 and Chevrolet Beat.
