LPG crisis in India: Celebrity-owned lavish restaurants may get affected by US-Israel-Iran war
From commercial LPG shortages affecting restaurants and industries to long queues at cylinder distribution centres, the crisis is unfolding in real time. The US-Israel-Iran war has hit India particularly hard, as the country imports a majority of its crude oil and nearly 90% of its LPG from this region. Despite government claims of no shortage of cooking gas, over 100 restaurants have reportedly shut down, many eateries have begun charging extra, and corporate houses have reduced menus in their staff canteens. The crisis may also impact lavish restaurants owned by celebrities such as Shilpa Shetty, Gauri Khan, and Virat Kohli.
