The trailer of Kanagana Ranaut's film Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi has finally released today. A trailer launch was hosted in Mumbai where the makers of the film were spotted along with lead actor Kangana who appeared at the launch all dressed as Rani Lakshmibai. Co-actor Ankita Lokhande, who is making her big Bollywood debut with Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi was also spotted.

Kangana made her appearance dressed as Rani Lakshmi Bai. Her parents also made it to the launch along with the actor. While interacting with the media, Kangana revealed that she would always wonder why her parents gave birth to her. She then replied by saying that she now feels that her life has a purpose.

Ankita looked stunning in an off-white saree and a green sleveless blouse. This is Ankita's Bollywood debut and the actor revealed that she gave in her best to do justice to her role. She will be seen playing the role of Jhalkari Bai in the film.

The writer of Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, KV Vijayendra Prasad revealed that he was apprehensive about working with Kangana. He said, “I was a little apprehensive because people had told me that she (Kangana) gets angry quickly. But when I started narrating the script to her, she jumped and clapped all the way like a kid. And I thought to myself, ‘Thank God!’”

Directed by Krish Jagarlamudi, the movie also features, Jisshu Sengupta and Zeeshan Ayyub in pivotal roles. It is all set to hit the screens on January 25.
