Sobhita Dhulipala and Naga Chaitanya dated for almost two years behind the screens and now the couple are all set to get married.
On October 21, 2024, Sobhita Dhulipala dropped a chain of photos on her Instagram which showed the glimpses of Godhuma Raayi Pasupu Danchatam ceremony.
Sobhita on her first pre-wedding ritual draped a traditional yet gorgeous silk saree paired with gold jewellery.
In Telegu tradition, Godhuma Raayi or Pasupu Danchatam ceremony is an integral part of a marriage which marks the beginning of wedding celebrations for the bride, groom and their families.
It is said that Godhuma Raayi or Pasupu Danchatam ceremony is mostly carried out by the women of the family and the bride takes part in it. It happens mostly after engagement.
Pasupu Danchatam begins with Ganesh Puja. Mostly it is followed by the groom's mother or elder female of the family. Items like Thambulam (betel nut) and coconut are added in the grinding stone.
Later, five elders of the family especially ladies crush the raw turmeric placed in the grinding stone.
Once it is completed, the grinded turmeric paste is kept with the bride and groom, which will be later used during Pelli Kuthuru (Haldi ceremony) along with sandalwood paste.
Preparing delicacies like Vodiyalu is a must during the celebration, without this the Pasupu Danchatam ceremony stands incomplete.
Once the ritual comes to an, the family can discuss wedding plans in detail. Gifts, clothes, and other items such as bride's saree and outfits for wedding is finalised.
