Members of the Bajrang Dal have warned young couples who are still not married that if caught they will be directly married to each other without even intimidating their parents in a move to stop the celebration of this anti-national day as they call it. The activists believe that this is not Indian culture rather it is foreign culture that has been adapted by Indians which need to be stopped.

In an unexpected move by the Islamabad High Court yesterday, it ordered youth not to celebrate this day (anti-national) by the citizens of Pakistan. Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui of the Islamabad High Court in his order said, “No event shall be held at official level and at any public place.” The ruling came on a petition filed by one Abdul Wahid who pleaded that Valentines Day be declared ‘un-Islamic’.

An Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS) prayer leader has registered his protest against Valentine’s Day by chopping the head of a teddy bear with a sharp knife. The order came during the hearing of a petition arguing that the day was not part of Islamic tradition and should be banned.

The city district assembly had passed a unanimous resolution to impose a ban on Valentine’s Day celebration in Peshawar district last year. The resolution was presented by Khalid Waqas Chamkani, who belongs to Jamaat-e-Islami, and was passed unanimously.

President Mamnoon Hussain urged Pakistanis not to observe Valentine’s Day, which he criticised as a Western import that threatened to undermine Islamic values. The order was in response to a private petition which argued the festival promotes immorality, nudity and indecency under the guise of celebrating love.

50 activists marched across Hyderabad in 2015 to observe anti-Valentine Day. VHP and Bajrang Dal city secretary Shiva Ramulu had earlier warned that they would hold protests across the city against the celebrations of Valentine's Day on February 14.

In 2015, Bajrang Dal activists on Sunday chased away young couples from parks and zoos as a protest against Valentine's Day in Kanpur. A large number of young couples who had gathered at the Motijheel park and zoo here in the afternoon were chased away by the leaders of Bajrang Dal.
