At least 72 people died due to the cyclonic storm and thousands of trees, crops and infrastructure were damaged across West Bengal. While Mamata Banerjee announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2.5 lakh to the families of those who died, social media users remained stunned at the devastating contrast in photos before and after damage caused by Amphan.
