As the tenure of the current Municipal Corporation in Delhi expires in April 2017, Elections in Delhi's three municipal bodies North, South and East corporations will be held on 23rd April 2017. Hours of Polls – 8:00 am to 5:30 pm (without break)
Counting of votes for Delhi MCD Elections 2017 will take place on 26th April 2017. There are 272 wards in Delhi MCD.
MCD is an autonomous body that governs 8 of the 11 Districts of Delhi. There are 272 wards in Delhi MCD. Municipal election is held once a five year and the term for the counsellor is 5 years.
Delhi MCD is divided into three zones: North, East, and South. There are 64 seats in East Delhi, 104 in North Delhi and 104 in South Delhi. To get majority in the election party needs 137 seats out of 272.
