Ahead of CBSE class 10, 12 results 2026, here's the list of successful people in the world who didn't finish school
Indian Olympic boxer Mary Kom dropped out of school midway and made her career in Boxing, going on to become India’s premier female boxer. She is the only woman to win the World Amateur Boxing Championship six times.
Alia Bhatt completed her high school education at Jamnabai Narsee School in Mumbai. She chose not to pursue higher education, dropping out after the 10th standard to pursue her acting career. She made her debut in acting with Student of The Year.
Indian legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, known as 'God of Cricket', completed his high school education at Sharadashram Vidyamandir High School in Mumbai, where he was coached by Ramakant Achrekar. He focused entirely on cricket, but did not pursue higher education after school and dropped out of Kirti College to play for India at age 16.
John Christopher "Johnny" Depp II was born on June 9, 1963. He was raised in Florida. He dropped out of school when he was 15, and fronted a series of music-garage bands, including one named 'The Kids'. When he married Lori A. Depp, he took a job as a ballpoint-pen salesman to support himself and his wife. In LA, he met actor Nicolas Cage, who advised him to turn to acting, which culminated in Depp's film debut in the low-budget horror film, A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984).
Mukesh Ambani dropped out of his MBA program and went on to become the Managing Director of Reliance Industries and is also the 9th richest man in the world according to Forbes magazine. Not bad at all. Mukesh Ambani's net worth is estimated at approximately $90–$100 billion, maintaining his position as the richest person in Asia and India.
English business magnate who co-founded the Virgin Group in 1970 dropped out of school at 15 years old, and started his first business at 16 years old. He started a magazine called Student. Of course, he would go on to found the Virgin Group, a multinational conglomerate with over 400 companies in various fields. Branson was educated at Scaitcliffe School, a preparatory school in Surrey, before briefly attending Cliff View House School in Sussex. He attended Stowe School, a public school in Buckinghamshire until the age of 16.
Canadian-American actor and comedian Jim Carrey had a limited formal education, dropping out of high school at age 16 to help support his family, working as a janitor. He attended several schools in Ontario, Canada, including Agincourt Collegiate Institute, but did not graduate. Later in life, he received an honorary doctorate from Maharishi International University in 2014.
Nicolas Cage was born Nicolas Kim Coppola in Long Beach, California, the son of comparative literature professor August Coppola (whose brother is director Francis Ford Coppola) and dancer/choreographer Joy Vogelsang. He attended the Beverly Hills High School but left school at 17. He aspired to act from an early age and later attended UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television.
