Two mild western disturbances are heading towards north India this week, according to weather forecasts
The first system is likely to hit between April 16 and April 17, followed by another between April 18 and April 19.
The latest disturbances will mainly trigger light to moderate rainfall in the higher reaches of Jammu & Kashmir, north Punjab, and Himachal Pradesh.
The upcoming pair appears milder, offering some moisture to the hills without major disruption to the plains
A strong heatwave is about to sweep across many parts of India over the next two days, causing the temperatures to climb in several states.
Forecasts show that temperatures will keep rising gradually over the next two to three weeks.
Delhi-NCR is expected to cross the 40C mark for the first time this season, while parts of Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan may touch 42C-43C.
Heatwave conditions are very likely in parts of Vidarbha in Maharashtra from April 15–18, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada on April 15–17, and isolated areas of Madhya Pradesh from April 16–18.
Interior and some coastal parts of Odisha face alerts from April 15–18, while Chhattisgarh is expected to see heatwave conditions from April 16–19.
Places like Nagpur, Bhopal, Amravati, and Bhubaneswar could see the temperatures hovering between 42C and 45C till April 16, with some areas getting even hotter.
