One militant gunned down in an encounter in Padgampora in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district. Encounter is still underway in the area. Stone pelting has also been reported from the encounter site. According to media reports the body of the terrorist is yet to be recovered.
Authorities suspend train services from Banihal to Srinagar as one of the railway stations is near the Pulwama encounter site.
In a statement CRPF said about four to five terrorists are suspected to be hiding in a house near the encounter area. This is the second major encounter in the area in last four days in Pulwama. Jammu and Kashmir troops launched an anti-terror operation after information about the presence of terrorists in Pulwama.
Earlier two terrorist were also killed in an encounter between security forces and militants in Tral village in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir. One policeman was also martyred during an encounter in Tral village of Jammu and Kashmir.
Earlier a12-hour anti-terror operation was held near Lucknow on Tuesday. Terrorist Saifullah was believed to be a part of a group that was planning a major attack on a Sufi shrine in Uttar Pradesh later this month was killed.
