Every year, the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) releases a list of the best medical colleges and institutes based on several parameters.
Here are the top five medical colleges in India according to the latest NIRF rankings.

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) New Delhi topped the medical institutions ranking 2025. It rank is 1. 'All-India Institute of Medical Sciences was established as an institution of national importance by an Act of Parliament with the objects to develop patterns of teaching in Undergraduate and Post-graduate Medical Education in all its branches so as to demonstrate a high standard of Medical Education in India; to bring together in one place educational facilities of the highest order for the training of personnel in all important branches of health activity; and to attain self-sufficiency in Post-graduate Medical Education,' reads the statement on the website.
The Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh has secured the second rank in the list of the NIRF medical college ranking 2025.
The Christian Medical College, Vellore, has secured the third rank in the list of the NIRF medical college ranking 2025.
The Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education & Research, has secured the fourth rank in the list of the NIRF medical college ranking 2025.
The Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences, has secured the fifth rank in the list of the NIRF medical college ranking 2025.
