US President Donald Trump celebrated the festival of lights Diwali in and hailed contributions of Indian-Americans in various fields. He lit a diya at the Oval office surrounded by his daughter Ivanka and Indian-American members in his administration. He wrote a Diwali message on his Facebook page – “Today, I was deeply honored to be joined by so many administration officials and leaders of the Indian-American community – to celebrate Diwali — the Hindu Festival of Lights. Delhi police today seized 1182 kg firecrackers in the national capital. So far 21 cases have been registered for violating SC’s ban on the sale of firecrackers in Delhi-NCR. 2 policemen were also suspended for failing to stop the illegal sale.
