SC Pulls up CBI Over Transfer of Officer Probing Bihar Shelter Home Cases, Summons Nageswara Rao
The Supreme Court has come down heavily on former Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) interim director M Nageswara Rao, who it says has committed contempt of court by transferring CBI officer AK Sharma, who was probing the Muzaffarpur shelter case. The apex court said that the then CBI interim chief transferred Sharma in violation of court’s order and has now directed him to appear before it on February 12. “We are going to take it very very seriously. You have played with order of Supreme Court of India. God help you. Never play with Supreme Court’s order,” Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi said after CBI counsel informed that two officials including M Nageswara Rao were involved in transferring Sharma.
