Lok Sabha Elections 2019: PM Narendra Modi Urges Rahul Gandhi, Mamata Banerjee And Others to Strengthen Voter Awareness, Has ‘Four Requests For Democracy’
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday urged his ‘fellow Indians’ to strengthen voter awareness efforts across India in a bid to ensure maximum participation in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2019. Claiming that ‘a high turnout augurs well for our democratic fabric’, PM Modi’s appeal was not only limited to the common people. Taking to Twitter, he tagged veterans of the media world, renowned film personalities, sportsperson and even leaders from Opposition parties, asking them to encourage increased voter turnout in the upcoming general elections. In a blog, titled ‘Four Requests For Democracy’, PM Modi asserted that ‘voting is among our prime duties’. Adding, he said, “Let us create an environment where getting one’s voter card and casting a vote, especially for the first time, become occasions for celebration.”
