‘Proposal to Enlist Masood Azhar as Global Terrorist Mooted 4 Times But This Year, we Had Global Support,’ Tweets Sushma
External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Friday took to Twitter to clear the air on how the proposal to enlist Masood Azhar as a global terrorist in the UN Security Council has played out over the years and how, despite failing to get a favourable result, it wasn’t exactly a diplomatic failure for the country either. In a series of tweets, the Minister explained the timeline of the events that led to China blocking India’s bid to designate the Jaish-e-Mohammed chief as a global terrorist. Swaraj began by explaining the intent behind her tweets. “I wish to apprise you of the facts regarding the listing of Masood Azhar under the United Nations Sanctions Committee. The proposal has been mooted four times,” she said.
