Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday inaugurated various development projects, cumulatively worth more than Rs 500 crore, at the Banaras Hindu University in Varanasi. Among the projects inaugurated by Modi were Integrated Power Development Scheme (IPDS) for Puraani Kashi and an Atal Incubation Centre at the BHU. The projects for which the foundation stone was laid include the Regional Ophthalmology Centre at the BHU. The event is being held at the amphitheatre of Banaras Hindu University (BHU). The prime minister will shortly address a gathering from the BHU’s amphitheatre. According to sources, PM Modi is expected to interact with around 50,000 BJP workers.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, and 11 other MLAs have been summoned as accused by Patiala High Court for allegedly assaulting Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash seven months ago. They have been directed to appear before the court on October 25.The summons has been sent to all those who have been named in the chargesheet by Delhi Police in connection with the case. The other accused in the case include Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs Amanatullah Khan, Prakash Jarwal, Nitin Tyagi, Rituraj Govind, Sanjeev Jha, Ajay Dutt, Rajesh Rishi, Rajesh Gupta, Madan Lal, Parveen Kumar, and Dinesh Mohania.
