25-year-old excellent tennis player and coach Radhika Yadav was murdered on Thursday. It is alleged that Radhika's father shot five bullets at his daughter from behind, three of which pierced her body. Why did Radhika's father kill her while she was cooking something in the kitchen on her mother's birthday?
49-year-old Deepak who was victim's father was arrested after killing his daughter, confessed his crime and said that he had asked his daughter to close the tennis academy, which she was not ready for. According to police officials, Deepak has said that people used to taunt him for eating his daughter's earnings.
Gurugram Police spokesperson Sandeep Singh said, "Radhika used to run a tennis academy and her father was not happy with this." During interrogation, Deepak said that he was being ridiculed in society. HT, in a report based on a copy of the FIR, said that Deepak told the police that his reputation was being hurt due to the criticism and due to this he was in depression for 15 days.
Questions are being raised on the argument given by Deepak that he lives in a very prosperous area. Who was taunting him there? If Deepak's thinking was conservative, would he have allowed his daughter to become a player? If there were people around him who taunted him, they must have teased Deepak even when she was making her mark in the sports field. He did not stop his daughter then? Now why suddenly he could not tolerate the taunts? If he was really bothered by the taunts, then he would have harmed those who were making fun of him?
After Radhika's murder, on Thursday, Gurugram Police PRO Sandeep Kumar had initially said that there was a dispute between father and daughter over the reels. According to the Indian Express, Pawan Yadav, a close friend of the family and President of Resident Welfare Association of Sushant Lok Extension, said, 'Some local people were narrow-minded and could not tolerate Radhika's success. They had commented on a reel of Radhika which she had made about her game and coaching. Her family objected to this and Radhika had to delete her account.'
As Pawan told that Radhika Yadav had deleted her social media account, the question arises that if she had agreed to the family, then why was she angry now? If she had already deleted her social media accounts, then why would the father kill her over the reels?
A theory has also emerged that the father was angry with Radhika because of a music video. Some media reports have claimed that Radhika's father did not like her working in this music video and due to this there was tension between the two.
The police has said that no concrete evidence has been found regarding the anger over the video. At the same time, questions are also being raised that the video being talked about was released in June 2024 itself. If the father was angry with this video, then why did he commit the crime a year later? If he could not tolerate it, he would have taken such a step immediately after its release.
