ICC have reportedly given ultimatum to Bangladesh to play in India in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. According to ESPNCricinfo website, the ICC is understood to have told the BCB that Bangladesh will need to travel to India to play the T20 World Cup or risk forfeiting points.

Mustafizur Rahman was bought for Rs 9.2 crore by Shah Rukh Khan's Kolkata Knight Riders at the IPL 2026 mini auction last month.
Bangladesh Cricket Board claim they have received no ultimatum from ICC. "The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has received response from the International Cricket Council (ICC) regarding the Board's expressed concerns over the safety and security of the Bangladesh National Cricket Team in India for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026, including the request for relocation of the team's matches," BCB said in a statement. "The BCB has also taken note of certain reports published in a section of the media suggesting that the Board has been issued an ultimatum in this regard. The BCB categorically states that such claims are completely false, unfounded and do not reflect the nature or content of the communication received from the ICC," it said.
Bangladesh are scheduled to play their T20 World Cup 2026 matches in Kolkata and Mumbai. They will play three matches at Eden Gardens in Kolkata and one game at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Australia and West Indies had forfeited their matches against Sri Lanka in 1996 ODI World Cup by refusing to travel to Sri Lanka. England and New Zealand also forfeited their matches by not travelling to Zimbabwe and Kenya respectively in the 2003 ODI World Cup.
