MS Dhoni's Family Office had invested Rs 200 crore in BluSmart in a pre-Series B funding round from investors in 2024.
Bollywood star Deepika Padukone is also angel investor in BluSmart with her Family Office investing $3 million in 2019. In the same round, Bajaj Capital managing director Sanjiv Bajaj also made an investment.
BluSmart has started shutting down operations leaving thousands of users in cities like Delhi, Bengaluru and Mumbai, in a bind. The service abruptly stopped operating following a Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) order against its promoters in a loan fraud case. BluSmart may exit its core business and function as a fleet partner for its rival Uber.
MS Dhoni's Rs 200 crore investment is likely to be lost along with millions of dollars of other's invesment.
MS Dhoni's CSK are currently in 10th place on IPL 2025 Points Table with just two wins to their name so far.
