The second ODI match of the ongoing series between Pakistan Shaheens and England Lions in Abu Dhabi on Saturday has been called off due to the prevailing security situation in the region.
PCB official confirmed that today's scheduled match has been called off, with players and team staff advised to stay inside their hotel as a safety precaution.
The decision was made on the advice of the England and Wales Cricket Board due to the escalating situation in Abu Dhabi.
"There will be no practice session as well and the team has been advised to remain indoors," the official said, emphasizing that the security of the players and support staff remains the top priority.
The PCB remains in constant touch with the ECB and is closely monitoring the situation.
Once Middle East airspace reopens, a decision will be made regarding the remainder of the series, including whether the Shaheens team will play the remaining games or return to Pakistan, depending on the security situation.
The disruption came after Israel and the United States launched coordinated military strikes on Iran on February 28. The strikes sparked retaliatory missile attacks throughout the Gulf and forced several nations to close or restrict their airspace.
