Star opener Travis Head has been found to be Covid-19 positive and due to this he will not be able to participate in the important match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).
SRH head coach Daniel Vettori confirmed that Head could not travel with the team after he tested positive.
"Travis is coming in tomorrow morning, he was delayed. He actually had COVID, so he couldn't travel, so he'll get in tomorrow morning and we'll assess how he is after that,” Vettori told reporters in the pre-match press conference on Sunday, May 18.
The absence of Travis Head will be a big loss for SRH, as he is the team's key top-order batsman and his aggressive batting style has been helpful in giving the team a strong start.
The Australian batsman who lit up IPL 2024 with his flamboyant strokeplay hasn't been able to bring that kind of run-scoring this season. His form has dipped sharply, scoring a mere 281 runs from 11 matches prior to the mid-season hiatus. In comparison, in the 2024 season, he scored 567 runs in 15 games and was one of the mainstays of SRH's team.
