In these collection of pictures, we find out the two captaincy options for Kavya Maran's Sunrisers Hyderabad ahead of their IPL 2026 opening match vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru on March 28.
Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins is set to miss first few matches of IPL 2026. Cummins is recovering from back injury which forced him to miss T20 World Cup 2026.
Pat Cummins was retained for Rs 18 crore by Kavya Maran's Sunrisers Hyderabad ahead of IPL 2026 season. Cummins is unlikely to lead the side in SRH's IPL 2026 opening match vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru on March 28.
Kavya Maran is set to pick Abhishek Sharma or Ishan Kishan as new Sunrisers Hyderabad captain for initial matches of IPL 2026 season.
Ishan Kishan led Jharkhan to Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy 2026 title which earned him a recall to the Indian team for T20 World Cup 2026.
Ishan Kishan also led Jharkhan in Vijay Hazare Trophy tournament. Kishan could be front-runner to replace Pat Cummins as Sunrisers Hyderabad captain, according to a report in TOI.
Abhishek Sharma was retained for Rs 14 crore by Kavya Maran's Sunrisers Hyderabad ahead of IPL 2026 season. Abhishek could also be selected to lead SRH in place of Pat Cummins.
Abhishek Sharma is the world No. 1 T20I batter currently while Ishan Kishan is world No. 2. Abhishek has also been captain of Punjab team in Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy 2026.
