Sunrisers Hyderabad began their IPL 2026 campaign with a 6-wicket loss over Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), however they made a strong comeback with a dominant 65-run victory against Kolkata Knight Riders.
Ishan Kishan has been leading the side in designated captain Pat Cummins absence, who is recovering from lower back injury.
Pat Cummins, who joined the SRH camp ahead of the teams opening match against RCB in IPL 2026 has been sidelined since July last year with only one Ashes Test in between.
Pat Cummins has left the Sunrisers Hyderabad camp to return home for a final scan on his back injury.
The scan is a routine procedure, to be conducted under the supervision of Cricket Australia (CA).
Pat Cummins departed India following SRH's last match against Kolkata Knight Riders on Thursday and is expected to rejoin the team on April 17, provided he receives clearance from CA.
Eshan Malinga and David Payne have taken charge as Sunrisers Hyderabad's overseas pacers role in Cummins absence.
Ishan Kishan-led SRH will look to continue their wining momentum in their third match of IPL 2026, facing Lucknow Super Giants at home in Hyderabad on Sunday afternoon.
