PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi has assured full security to Sri Lanka cricket team. Naqvi is also Interior Minister of Pakistan. He had a meeting with the Sri Lankan High Commissioner in Islamabad on Wednesday. Managers of both the Sri Lanka and Pakistan cricket teams and top security officials attended the session.
Pakistan vs Sri Lanka ODI series has been rescheduled. The two teams were to clash in Rawalpindi for the second ODI on Thursday, but it will now be held on Friday, while the third ODI, slated for November 15, will now be played on November 16.
Sri Lanka Cricket has threatened 'formal enquiry' if any cricketer returns from Pakistan. The SLC also said if any player or member of the support staff return home despite its directives, “a formal review will be conducted to assess their actions, and an appropriate decision will be made upon the conclusion of the review.”
Pakistan T20I series matches have also been rescheduled. All the T20I series matches will now take place in Rawalpindi. Apart from Sri Lanka and Pakistan, Zimbabwe are third team in the tri-series.
