Shah Rukh Khan's KKR have sacked head coach Chandrakant Pandit ahead of the IPL 2025 season. "Mr. Chandrakant Pandit has decided to explore new opportunities and will not continue as head coach of Kolkata Knight Riders. We are thankful for his invaluable contributions - including leading KKR to the IPL championship in 2024 and helping build a strong, resilient squad. His leadership and discipline left a lasting impact on the team," a KKR statement read.
Chandrakant Pandit had replace Brendon McCullum as KKR head coach. Pandit's KKR finished in 7th place in IPL 2023.
Chandrakant Pandit guided KKR to IPL title in 2024 under the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer. A lot of foreign players didn't adjust to Pandit's 'millitary style' methods. ""He (Pandit) is known in India as a very military type of coach. He is very strict, very disciplinarian - that type of stuff," former KKR all-rounder David Wiese had said.
Bowling coach Bharat Arun is also set to leave Shah Rukh Khan's KKR, according to media reports.
