India vice-captain Rishabh Pant has injured his finger on Day 1. Pant hurt his finger while trying to stop a wayward delivery of Jasprit Bumrah.
Rishabh Pant was off the field for most of Day 1 on Thursday. "Rishabh Pant got hit on his left index finger. He is receiving treatment at the moment and under the supervision of the medical team," BCCI statement read.
Dhruv Jurel replaced Rishabh Pant as keeper on the field. "I haven't heard anything, but we will hear more tomorrow morning before we go back," all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy said about injury to Rishabh Pant.
England captain Ben Stokes has suffered a groin injury on Day 1 of the Lord's Test. Stokes is unbeaten on 39 off 102 balls but might be unable to bowl.
Ollie Pope is keeping 'fingers crossed' about injury to Ben Stokes. "I've not seen him since, so fingers crossed there's nothing too serious. But clearly we've got a big Test over the next four days and we've got a big two (at Old Trafford and The Oval) coming up as well, so it is important to try and manage him," Pope said about Stokes at the end of Day 1.
Joe Root is one run short of his 37th Test century. He has become the first batter to score 3000 Test runs vs India.
