Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins has been fined Rs 12 lakh by the BCCI after IPL 2026 match vs Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad. "As this was his team’s first offence of the season under Article 2.22 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct, which pertains to minimum over-rate offences, Cummins was fined INR 12 lakhs," the BCCI statement read.
Pat Cummins-led Sunrisers Hyderabad were hammered by 82 runs by Gujarat Titans at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday.
Pat Cummins is 7th captain to be fined for slow over-rate by the BCCI. Cummins will be handed one demerit point when the fine amount crosses Rs 25 lakh.
IPL captains are not BANNED directly for over-rate offences since IPL 2025 season. A captain can be banned if he accumulated 5 demerit points like Lucknow Super Giants spinner Digvesh Rathi in IPL 2025.
Shreyas Iyer is only captain to be fined twice in IPL 2026 season for slow over-rate. Iyer has paid Rs 36 lakhs in fine to BCCI so far.
