The Indian Premier League (IPL 2026) is all set to be played on March 28. However, all the franchises are ready to showcase their great performance and win the title of this year's edition. The first match of the tournament will be played between RCB and SRH at Bengaluru.
However, something chaotic and crazy we might miss in this years' IPL as most of the legendary players will not be part of this year's edition. So, here are the stars who will not play in the IPL 2026.
The first player on the list, former West Indies star and one of the finest all-rounders of all time, Andre Russell, is known for glorious batting performance and wicket-taking abilities. Since last year's IPL, Russel was seen playing for Shah Rukh Khan's Kolkata Knight Riders. Russel announced his retirement and will be a "Power Coach" for KKR.
Next on the list is a star Australian player and one of the finest all-rounders of all time, Glenn Maxwell, who withdrew his name from the IPL 2026 auction. Recently, Maxwell was seen struggling with his poor form. Due to this problem, he decided to take a break after 13 years.
The third player on the list is a former Indian spinner and one of the greatest spinners of all time, who helped Team India with his incredible bowling performance. Yes, you guessed it right, Ravichandran Ashwin holds the third position. He announced his retirement after last year's IPL.
The next star player on the list is England all-rounder Moeen Ali, who impressed the cricket world with his iconic all-round performance. Moeen was part of the KKR squad last season but was released before the mega auction.
The final player on the list is former South Africa captain, who impressed the cricket world with his brilliant batting performance. Faf du Plessis, played his last season for Delhi Capitals, but due to the poor performance, the franchise released him, and he did not even register for the auction.
