India's star batter Ajinkya Rahane will continue to lead the side in IPL 2026. As per Mumbai Mirror on Sunday, March 15, the Shah Rukh Khan-owned franchise has decided to back Rahane for another season, valuing his leadership and experience.
37-year-old right-hander, who took over the KKR captaincy replacing Shreyas Iyer last year is set to retain the role. “Rahane is the best choice for captaincy considering his vast experience and the mix of players at KKR. The franchise has decided that he will continue as captain this season as well," a source was quoted as saying by the publication.
In IPL 2025, Rahane batted at No. 3 for KKR, and he is likely to continue in the same spot this season. T
The three-time champions boosted their top order with the signing of New Zealand's Finn Allen, Tim Seifert, and Rachin Ravindra, along with Australia's Cameron Green.
KKR also have Sunil Narine in their ranks, and the former West Indies spinner has consistently made an impact with his batting when opening in previous IPL seasons.
