Football legend Lionel Messi arrived in Kolkata early Saturday morning for a three-day G.O.A.T. tour. Due to tight security, he was taken directly from the airport to his hotel around 3:30 AM.
The atmosphere completely changed upon Messi's arrival at the Hyatt Regency hotel. The lobby echoed with “Messi! Messi!” chants, and fans were seen running through the hotel corridors until the early hours of the morning.
Messi has played a key role in Inter Miami's rise in MLS, since joining from Paris Saint-Germain in 2023, scoring 29 league goals this season and helping the team secure third place in the Eastern Conference and a spot in the playoffs.
In the past, only Messi and Michel Platini have managed to win won three consecutive titles.
Aitana Bonmatí will now aim on Lionel Messi’s record of four consecutive Ballon d’Or wins. To match his feat, she will need to secure her remarkable form through the 2025-26 season.
