In the ongoing SA20 season, South African all-rounder Marco Jansen has been a standout performer for Sunrisers Eastern Cape (SEC).
Jansen became the first bowler in the tournament's history to reach 50 wickets, achieving this milestone during Sunrisers match against the Paarl Royals at St. George's Park in Gqeberha.
The 25-year-old first dismissed Asa Tribe for seven in the fourth over, then sent Lhuan-dre Pretorius back for 11 runs in just three balls.
Jansen's efforts helped SEC restrict the Royals to 19/2 at one stage, but Tristan Stubbs and his teammates couldn't chase down the target of 150, as David Miller's blazing unbeaten 71 guided the Royals to a five-wicket victory
Jansen is playing his fourth SA20 season with Sunrisers and has been with the franchise since the league's inception in 2023. He played a key role in the team’s title wins in 2023 and 2024
Jansen has made a notable impact with the bat, as he scored 514 runs in the tournament, including three half-centuries.
In the ongoing SA20 season, Jansen has picked up four wickets in three matches. While he hasn’t quite been at his peak in the early stages, he will be aiming to increase his impact and claim more wickets as the tournament progresses.
