Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani have bought 49 per cent stake in Oval Invincibles for approximately Rs 650 crore. Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) through its subsidiary: RISE Worldwide, will be the club's partner in 'The Hundred' league.
Surrey will be Reliance partner in Oval Invincibles with 51 per cent stake in the team. The home ground of the franchise is the Oval stadium in London.
Oval Invincibles were valued at over Rs 1300 crore or 123 million pounds, according to media reports.
Oval Invincibles are 4th overseas cricketer franchise for Reliance after MI Cape Town, MI Emirates and MI New York.
Oval Invincibles are reigning champions in The Hundred in the last 2 seasons in 2023 and 2024. The Oval Invincibles women's team won the title in 2021 and 2022.
Mukesh Ambani-owned Rs 245 crore team won SA20 title last week. It was the first win for MI Cape Town in South African T20 franchise league.
