The defending champions, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), are set to play the first match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on March 28th at Bengaluru.
Ahead of the tournament, look at the top five players with the most runs for a single franchise in IPL history. The list includes legendary players.
The first player on the list is star Indian batter and legendary player, Virat Kohli. He played 267 matches for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and scored 8661 runs. Since the beginning of the tournament, Kohli has been a part of RCB.
The next player on the list is a former Indian captain and one of the finest batters in the Indian Premier League (IPL) history. Yes, you guessed it right. Rohit Sharma, who played 227 matches for Mumbai Indians and scored 5876 runs. Under Rohit's captaincy, Mumbai won five IPL titles.
The third player on the list is a former Indian player and one of the most successful captains in the Indian Premier League (IPL) history. MS Dhoni, who played 248 matches and scored 4865 runs for Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
The fourth player on the list is a former Indian player and 'Mr. IPL', Suresh Raina, who played 176 matches for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and scored 4687 runs. He helped CSK to win crucial matches with his brilliant batting performance.
The final player on the list is former South Africa player and the backbone of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), AB de Villiers, who played 156 matches for RCB and scored 4491 runs.
