Afghanistan, Pakistan, and the UAE will have extra match practice ahead of the men’s T20 Asia Cup as they gear up to play a T20 tri-series organized by the Emirates Cricket Board in Sharjah during August and September.
The Asia Cup is scheduled to begin on September 9 and end on September 28. It will be played in the UAE.
Pakistan was supposed to host Afghanistan for three T20Is during the window now taken by the tri-series in ICC’s Future tours programme.
Pakistan are currently playng bilateral white-ball series, having won the first of them against West Indies and will also play their first match at Asia Cup with Oman on September 12.

Pakistan's centrally-contracted cricketers will contribute Rs 5 million to the national government's emergency fund to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Ehsan Mani on Wednesday said apart from centrally-contracted players contributing Rs 5 million, the employees in the board, up to the senior manager level, will contribute their one day's salary.
UAE, however, are yet to qualify. To make it to the World Cup, they must first get through the Asia-East Asia and Pacific Qualifiers, scheduled to be held in Oman from October 8 to 17.
