South Africa's T20 captain Aiden Markram, has been handed a major role by Manchester Super Giants in The Hundred.
The Manchester Super Giants named Aiden Markram as its captain for the upcoming season.
Markram was also the most expensive overseas signing in The Hundred auction. With this appointment, he is now associated with three 'Super Giants' franchises - Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League and Durban's Super Giants in the SA20.
The Super Giants head coach, Justin Langer, revealed that Markram was their top priority during The Hundred auction.
Justin Langer opened up about signing Markram and said, "It is fantastic to have him across our three teams. He is a brilliant player, a wonderful human being, and possesses the qualities of a true captain. His leadership is an aspect of his game that we admire the most."
Ahead of the auction, three men's teams in The Hundred had already confirmed their captains. Phil Salt will lead Welsh Fire, while Jacob Bethell has been named captain of Birmingham Phoenix. Meanwhile, Sam Curran has been appointed captain of London Spirit.
Manchester Super Giants will face London Spirit in their campaign opener in The Hundred on July 21 at Lord's Cricket Ground.
