Just before the IPL 2026 retention deadline, major trades were seen between teams. Many senior players joined new franchises, while some returned to their former camps. All trades were made keeping in mind the agreed fees and experience. Let's find out each player's new destination and key information related to them.
Rajasthan Royals captain and experienced wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson will now play for Chennai Super Kings. His fee will remain at Rs 18 crore. Samson, who has played 177 matches, has been a part of the IPL since 2013, and this will be his third franchise. Prior to this, he played for Delhi Capitals for only two seasons (2016–17).
English all-rounder Sam Curran has also moved from CSK to Rajasthan Royals. His league fee will remain at Rs 2.4 crore (24 million rupees). Curran has played 64 IPL matches so far, and RR will be his third franchise. He previously represented Punjab Kings and CSK.
Experienced fast bowler Mohammed Shami will join Lucknow Super Giants from Sunrisers Hyderabad. His fee of Rs 10 crore (100 million rupees) will remain the same. With 119 matches of experience, Shami won the Purple Cap in 2023. Although he missed the 2024 season due to injury, he played a key role in GT's title win in 2023, taking 20 wickets.
Leg-spinner Mayank Markande has left KKR and rejoined Mumbai Indians. His trade fee has been kept at Rs 30 lakh. Markande has previously played for MI (2018, 2019, and 2022) and has taken 37 wickets in the IPL so far.
Mumbai Indians all-rounder Arjun Tendulkar will now play for Lucknow Super Giants. He has been traded for the same fee of Rs 30 lakh. Arjun, who was first acquired by MI in 2021, made his IPL debut in 2023.
Left-handed batsman Nitish Rana has been traded from Rajasthan Royals to Delhi Capitals. DC has added him for the same fee of Rs 4.2 crore. Rana, who has played over 100 matches, also captained KKR in 2023.
All-rounder Donovan Ferreira has returned to Rajasthan Royals from Delhi Capitals. His fee has been increased from Rs 75 lakh to Rs 1 crore. RR was his first franchise, and he will play for the same team again in IPL 2026.
