Following a thrilling 22-run victory over India in the third Test at Lord's, the England team, led by Ben Stokes, will look to continue their winning streak in the fourth Test at Old Trafford in Manchester.
England's key pacer Shoaib Bashir has been ruled of the remainder of the series due to left hand injury as England announced their 14-member squad for fourth Test. Liam Dawson is set to Replace Bashir.
Liam Dawson has played a total of three Tests for England and his last appearance in red-ball cricket was against South Africa in Trent Bridge. However, he may not feature in the playing XI as England can go for Gus Atkinson as Bashir's replacement.
Gus Atkinson, currently ranked 12th among Test bowlers, is England’s highest-ranked player in the format. Since making his debut against the West Indies at Lord’s in July last year, he has grabbed 55 wickets in 12 matches. He was out of the first three Tests of the ongoing Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy due to a hamstring injury. Atkinson last played for England in May 2025 against Zimbabwe at Trent Bridge, where he picked two wickets in the first innings and one in the second.
RCB all-rounder Jacob Bethell may replace opener Zak Crawley in Manchester Test. Bethell has scored 260 runs and picked three wickets in three Tests played so far.
Crawley has been in disappointing form recently as he managed to score only 128 runs so far. He score four and 65 runs in Headingley. 19, 0 in second Test and 18, 22 in third Test.
