This 'Chak De! India' actress and national Hockey player, married to star cricketer, once turned down Shah Rukh Khan's film, let's take a look at this photo collection to find out the reason behind it.
Sagrika belongs to the royal family of Kagal town in Maharashtra's Kolhapur district, she grew up with a strong connection to cinema as her father, Vijayendra Ghatge, had a successful acting career and appeared in several films like 'Chitchor', 'Anpadh', and 'Kasam Bhagwan Ki', along with several television serials.
Sagarika dreamt of becoming an actress from a young age, after watching her father on screen.
Sagarika, who was born on January 8 aspired to work in films but was once close to turn down 'Chak De! India' offer.
Sagarika's family wanted her to complete her graduation before entering movie industry, but when she learned through a friend that the movie would feature 16 girls, she felt insecure, and she initially decided not to audition.
In a later interview, Sagarika admitted she felt intimidated by the large cast but eventually gathered the confidence to audition.
Sagarika went on to play the role of hockey player Preeti Sabarwal in the film after getting selected
Sagarika was also a national-level hockey player in real life which not only strengthened her performance but also played a key role in her casting in the film.
Sagarika Ghatge tied knot with star India cricketer Zaheer Khan on November 23, 2017. The couple were blessed with son Fatehsinh Khan in April 2025.
