The West Indies cricket team has entered a new era this year with a new look team. Their team is currently on a tour of Ireland where they have to play a series of three ODIs and three T20 International matches.
In the first match of this ODI series, the host Ireland team created a big upset by defeating the West Indies cricket team. In that match, Ireland batted first and scored 303 runs for 6 wickets and later bowled out the West Indies for 179 runs and registered a huge victory by 124 runs.
After this, when the West Indies team came on the field in the second ODI match, this time they came to bat first and scored a huge score of 352 runs by losing 8 wickets in 50 overs. The biggest contribution in this was of Keacy Carty who played an innings of 102 runs in 109 balls while batting at number three. But along with him, another miracle was seen which was the most charismatic.
In this innings of West Indies, the team's specialist bowlers were present in the lower order, which also included the name of fast bowler Matthew Forde. Forde came to bat at number eight but perhaps he came to the pitch with some other intention on this day. He wanted to show the world that he should no longer be considered a bowler, but a great all-rounder.
Matthew Forde started attacking the bowlers as soon as he came and completed his half-century in just 16 balls. This is the joint world record for the fastest half-century in ODI cricket history. Forde played a blistering innings of 58 runs in 19 balls which included 8 sixes and 2 fours.
Matthew Forde, born on 29 April 2002 in Barbados, West Indies, is a right-arm fast bowler. Till date, his bowling was his identity, on the basis of which he dominated tournaments like Caribbean Premier League and Lanka Premier League in T20 cricket. On the basis of this, he got a chance to play in the ODI and T20 team of West Indies in December 2023 when he was 21 years old. So far, this bowler, who has taken 16 wickets in 10 ODIs and 8 wickets in 6 T20 Internationals, has updated his profile by scoring the fastest ODI half-century.
