In childhood, MS Dhoni and Sakshi Singh Rawat studied in the same school in Ranchi. Both their fathers used to work together. Hence, there was a good bonding between the families. However, after some time, Sakshi's father got transferred to Dehradun and her family shifted there. But fate had something else in store. Dhoni and Sakshi met again in Kolkata after a long time. In the year 2007, the Indian team was staying at the Taj Bengal Hotel. Sakshi was doing an internship in the same hotel. Dhoni met Sakshi during this time.

After meeting Sakshi, MS Dhoni asked her manager for her number. When Dhoni messaged Sakshi, Sakshi ignored the message thinking it was a prank. Sakshi could not believe that Dhoni himself had messaged her. However, after knowing the truth, the two started talking. The two dated each other for about two and a half years. Even after spending so much time together, Dhoni did not make his relationship public.

In the year 2015, both MS Dhoni and Sakshi became parents of a daughter. Dhoni's daughter's name is Ziva. Dhoni was in Australia when Ziva was born. He had gone to play the World Cup then. Under Dhoni's captaincy, Team India reached the semi-finals. Captain Dhoni, who won three ICC trophies for the Indian team, won the 2007 T20 World Cup, the 2011 ODI World Cup and the Champions Trophy in 2013. He is not only the only captain of India but also of the world to do so. Dhoni is not very active on social media.
