There have been many batsmen in Indian cricket history who scored a lot of runs in ODI cricket. But there have also been some legendary players whose bat produced only one century in their entire career. This is also surprising because these names are counted among the big stars of Indian cricket. Let us know about those players who have only one century in ODI cricket.
The great all-rounder Kapil Dev, who gave India its first World Cup, played 225 ODI matches. However, he also has only one century to his name. This century came against Zimbabwe in the 1983 World Cup, when India lost 5 wickets for just 17 runs. In that difficult situation, Kapil Dev scored 175* runs and played one of the most memorable innings in Indian cricket history.
Technical batsman Sanjay Manjrekar played 74 ODIs and scored 15 half-centuries during this period. But he could touch the three-digit figure only once. He scored his first and last ODI century against South Africa in 1991.
'Colonel' Dilip Vengsarkar scored 17 centuries in Test cricket, but he had only one century to his name in ODI career. He played 129 ODIs and played a brilliant innings of 105 runs against New Zealand in 1988, which was his only ODI century.
India's middle-order batsman Robin Singh played 136 ODIs. Only one century came from his bat. This innings came against Sri Lanka in 1997. Robin Singh also scored 9 half-centuries in ODIs, but could touch the century mark only once.
