Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma's return to the Vijay Hazare Trophy grabbed the spotlight. Having stepped away from Tests and T20Is, they are now focused solely on the ODI format. Their presence in the Vijay Hazare Trophy reignited interest, with fans eager to see their favourite stars back in action in Indian colours.
Devdutt Padikkal produced a standout performance in a historic chase of 413, he smashed 147 off 118 balls to set up Karnataka's run chase. Padikkal then backed it up with another fine century in the following match against Kerala.
Rinku has been strengthening his case since being picked in the T20 World Cup squad, delivering back-to-back match-winning performances for Uttar Pradesh. The left-hander started the tournament with a quick 67 off 48 balls and followed it up with a commanding 106 off 56 deliveries, which included 11 fours and four sixes, to close out the innings.
Pant had a quiet outing against Andhra, managing just five runs, he played an impressive knock in the very next game with a well-paced 70 against Gujarat. Even then, his effort was overshadowed by Kohli's 77 in the same match.
Prithvi Shaw needs a standout season to grab selectors attention. He has chipped in with a few useful knocks in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, 46 off 39 against Punjab and 51 off 47 versus Sikkim. However, while these contributions have value, they are unlikely to make a strong impression, especially with Rohit and Kohli's dominating the tournament.
