The Indian government has banned real money based games. In such a situation, these companies have stopped all advertisements and sponsorships. Apart from this, dozens of Indian cricketers have suffered huge losses due to the new order of the central government.
BCCI used to get around Rs 120 crore annually from Dream11, which was the lead sponsor of Team India. Apart from this, the associate sponsor of IPL was My11Circle, with which there was a deal of around Rs 125 crore per season. In this way, BCCI has suffered a loss of around Rs 250 crore.
BCCI will still get other sponsors, but this time the deals may not be so expensive. According to the Cricbuzz report, except Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni, the fees of other players were not that expensive, but they were still charging crores of rupees.
If we talk about Virat Kohli, he had a deal of Rs 10 to 12 crore with Mobile Premier League i.e. MPL, while Rohit Sharma had a brand deal of Rs 6 to 7 crore with Dream11. MS Dhoni also used to get Rs 6 to 7 crore from Winzo.
Apart from Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant and Pandya brothers - Hardik and Krunal were also contracted with Dream11. Indian Test captain Shubman Gill, Mohammed Siraj, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Rinku Singh and former captain Sourav Ganguly were associated with My11 Circle. They are also going to lose crores.
