Former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh's father, Yograj Singh, has made a significant statement regarding Arjun Tendulkar. He believes that Arjun, the son of legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar, is not receiving the right kind of training. According to Yograj, Arjun's real strength lies in batting, but he is being molded too much into a bowler.
Yograj revealed that when Arjun came to his academy camp, he was asked to supervise him. During their conversation, Arjun mentioned that he was not getting enough opportunities to bat in matches.
During the camp, Arjun was hit by a ball, after which he was taken to the hospital. However, the injury was not serious, and he was soon ready to practice again.
Yograj asked Arjun to put on his pads and gave him a chance in the indoor nets. He was surprised by Arjun's aggressive style, as he played brilliant shots in all directions.
After practicing batting continuously for about a week, Arjun made his Ranji Trophy debut and scored a century. Yograj considers this proof of his batting prowess.
Yograj Singh also revealed that he had requested the Mumbai Indians management to let Arjun open the batting in a few matches, but his request was not granted.
In December 2022, Arjun equaled his father Sachin Tendulkar's record by scoring a century on his Ranji debut for Goa. Sachin had also scored a century on his Ranji debut against Gujarat in 1988, and now Arjun has repeated that history.
