The West Asian tensions have escalated further after a major bridge was destroyed in the airstrikes by the United States and Israel. The B1 bridge in Karaj was hit in the attack, which led to heavy destruction, damage, and 2 casualties. This has increased the tensions around West Asia.
The B1 bridge in Karaj was almost 1,000 metres long and it connected Tehran to Karaj, which further reduced traffic congestion.
After the B1 bridge strike, the Iranian state media released a list including 8 key bridges, hinting at the possibility of targets. The list includes bridges from Kuwait, UAE, Jordan, and others. This is being seen as a possible way of retaliation now.
The Sheikh Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah bridge was listed, which is one of the longest sea bridges in the world. It acts a key transit route for Kuwait.
The King Fahd Causeway links Saudi Arabia to Bahrain, which is an integral one for trade and daily travel. The bridge was also in the list of Iran.
Two bridges from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) were named in the list. These are Sheikh Zayed Bridge and Al Maqta Bridge.
There are many bridges in Jordan that are at Iran's target. These include King Hussein, Damia, Sheikh Khalifa and Abdoun bridges.
