There has been a lot of discontent among workers in Noida and Uttar Pradesh. This has brought the issue of wage difference to light.
Did you know there are some countries in the world that offer the best working conditions for workers, while others do not have great conditions?
Some of the countries where workers live better lives include New Zealand, Ireland, Belgium, Germany, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Spain, and Canada.
These countries consistently rank high because they have short working hours, 30–35 days of paid leave per year, excellent healthcare, and strong labor laws, along with strong unions.
Workers in these countries live a comfortable life, which is based on survival. Jobs and social security are strong in these countries. Meanwhile, unemployment benefits are available if a job is lost.
Labor laws are strictly enforced in this country. Employers face heavy penalties for harassment or unsafe working conditions.
India falls in the mid-lower range, ranking 42nd out of 60 countries. Several reports list India as having weak labour rights. Meanwhile, in India, Paid leave and social security are limited. Workers in the unorganised sector receive no protection.
