When the star cast of ‘2.0’ was announced, movie fanatics jumped with joy. To know the fact that two superstars Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar are coming together for a big project, fans couldn’t contain their excitement. And then when a poster featuring Rajinikanth and Akshay was unveiled by the makers, all were left stunned. Directed by S. Shankar, Rajinikanth would be essaying the role of Dr. Vaseegaran and Chitti whereas Akshay would be seen portraying the role of Dr. Richard. Seeing Akshay’s ferocious avatar in the poster, many assumed that Akshay is playing a negative character. But as per a report in a daily, Akshay is not the villain in ‘2.0’. Surprised?

Talking about Akshay Kumar’s role in ‘2.0’ a sourced informed Deccan Chronicle, “Akshay is not a villain in ‘2.0’. The costume and prosthetics suggest he plays a ferocious character. And he does!  But Akshay’s role as Dr. Richard is fighting for the right causes. He struggles against forces that have plundered and devastated the earth.” The source also claimed, “It was never a villainous part even when it was offered to Kamal Haasan.
